Bob Morley to star in new psycho-horror movie by Andy Chen

Bob Morley - The 100

Get your popcorn ready because Bob Morley will be heading to the Big Screen *hopefully* soon! And it’s a horror drama crafted by the filmmaker, Andy Chen.

Before we dive into this exciting movie news, let’s recap what Morley has accomplished since. Following his departure from The 100 in 2020, the Australian actor has amassed an impressive list of credits in starring roles. Morley captivated us with becoming a sexy male model named Peter K, looking for love in the coming-of-age Australian drama, Love Me, and as an emotionally complex suicide victim In Limbo

He then portrayed an ingenious tech engineer in the 2023 thriller “I’ll Be Watching,” curving his psyche to a dangerous yet satisfying level. But he’s also unfaithful, and the tech has a thing for him, and that’s all that I’m saying here.

Last month, Morley wrapped directing and filming his short feature, Status: Active, in which Eliza Taylor will star. It’s a bit of a dark comedy about an app driver shopping for unusual items for a client. I’ve been in the grocery and retail business, so I can relate to the out-of-this-world requests. The trailer was dropped during the Bob and Eliza panel at Conageddon 5 in March, much to a standing ovation. If you want to hear more about that fabulous The 100 convention, I’m currently composing a recap over at Culturess and will update with the details when published.

Morley’s next TV series will be the Australian drama The Family Next Door, set to premiere on ABC Australia later this year.

Bob Morley returns to the horror genre with Another by Andy Chen

Bob Morley Another horror movie Andy Chen

The new psychological movie is titled Another, and according to  the outlet, Bloody-Disgusting.com, which first reported the news,  the synopsis for Another is as follows:

“Joey, a grief-stricken author haunted by the death of her husband, Ben, a brilliant physicist. When Ben inexplicably appears one morning, alive and well, making breakfast in their kitchen, Joey is thrust into a waking nightmare where grief, memory, and reality begin to unravel.”

Morley will portray the character of Ben, and joining him in the cast are British actress India de Beaufort as his wife Joey, Anna Akana, Doug Jones, and Heather Langenkamp.

Filming is underway in Los Angeles, and while we don’t yet have a release date, we sure hope it’s soon. Another is also Chen’s feature film debut, but before he began this epic project, he released the short, The Spider.

Per the statement on Bloody-Disgusting, he spoke about what Another holds for him as a director and filmmaker:

Another is more than a horror film—it’s a meditation on grief, love, and fractured reality. I’m pulling inspiration from storytellers like M. Night Shyamalan, Christopher Nolan, and Denis Villeneuve to create something atmospheric, emotional, and uniquely immersive. It’s the kind of film I’ve always wanted to make.”

Grief can truly take us to unbelievable phenomena that are mentally conflicting and could lead us to a state of despondency and numbness.

Another will be Morley’s second horror film to have a lead role. His first was the Australian Indie, Road Train, in 2010
