April 10-12, 2026, in San Jose, California, was Fandom Con 2026 in Silicon Valley. While it was the smaller (ghost town) end of the spectrum, it still held a lot of heart and created lasting memories, especially when it came to the weekend’s ultimate showstopper, Eliza Taylor from The 100! Fans gathered to see the actress in person once again, and, as always, she was a true gem to be with!
Accompanied by her convention manager, Holly Evans of Conventions ETC, Eliza was busy signing autographs and keeping the cameras snapping for photo ops during the 3-day event. To say it wasn’t another dream come true would be a flat-out lie and offensive. At the same time, the full-on environment was filled with positivity and good vibes.
Speaking of good vibes, a few members of the exclusive GC (you didn’t hear it from me!) reunited at Eliza’s table, and we all just hung out like we were family. Correct that. We are a family.
So, what just happened at Fandom Con, besides what was mentioned? Well, Fankrü, let’s melt it down!

When you starred on a massive sci-fi television for seven seasons and delivered great character arcs among yourself, you’re going to become a legacy. And that’s exactly what happened to Eliza. Little did she know that her role as Clarke Griffin would generate a global fan phenomenon and evolve the way we think about character development.
And rightfully so. Clarke became the first bisexual female lead on a broadcast network. Her embodiment, along with her tough-as-nails yet vulnerable spirit, resonated with the audience, especially those in the LGBTQ+ community. It’s not an easy endeavor, as it takes massive talents and skills to pull off a complex character, but Eliza did that. She brought life to Clarke, and imagining another actress in the role creates a blank space in the mind.
Yeah, I went there.
During her panel on April 11, the Aussie beauty shared her time working on The 100 and the power of Clexa. Now, as one in the LGBTQ+ community, I side strongly with the Clexa ship. Despite its short duration, Clarke and Lexa defined the perfect same-sex pairing, and although both leaders had, let’s say, a rocky beginning due to the terms of ‘saving their people’, they resonated an unmatched, profound love and devotion. That’s a rare find in media, and Clexa paved the way for future bisexual-lesbian couples across television.
Eliza then reflected on what fandoms and shows she loved. She’s just a human like the rest of us, and as such, we can connect with her more. It’s elements like these that give the show, as well as the cast’s other credits, that extra special something.
For her role as The 100 heroine, Eliza cleverly adapted The Hunger Games‘ Katniss Everdeen’s voice– one that holds the superior essence of survival and penchancy of rebellion. It makes absolute sense, given how Clarke and Katniss fought against unjust societies, despite the errors made.
Oh, well. Nobody said they had to be perfect; they just had to do their best to keep everyone alive.
