Status: Active, the little 2025 short film created by our very own The 100‘s Bob Morley and Eliza Taylor has been gaining considerable recognition. The just-under-ten-minute movie, described as a genre-bending dark comedy about a female delivery driver named Kaitlyn, has become a film festival staple worldwide. Status: Active was featured at the LA Shorts International Film Festival in 2025, the Catalina Film Festival, the All The Laughs Comedy Festival in Atlanta, the Dances With Films Fest in New York, and, most recently, Weirdfest in Wisconsin. Moreover, others provided screenings for the Wild Pip Pictures production.
At All The Laughs Comedy Festival, Status: Active took home the “Golden Popcorn” Award for Best Dark Comedy. As it should be, because fans who got the privilege to see it said it was “a mix of a ton of laughs and a pick-me-up.” Furthermore, Eliza should be allowed to utilize her comedic chops, as it’s a stark contrast to her science fiction roles. Her portrayal of Clarke Griffin (and Bob’s Bellamy) is inscribed in television history books. I’d love to see the same for her comedy.
How Bob Morley and Eliza Taylor brought Status: Active from script to screen
With Status: Active, the awards felt even sweeter because the piece is a grassroots endeavor fueled by passionate fans and its creators on Indiegogo. The crowdfunding platform also offered fun perks, such as autographed BTS photos, posters, scripts, Zoom calls, and producer rights, available upon making the appropriate tier-specific donations. The campaign doubled its goal. Therefore, this provided income for the crew and enhanced the movie’s visuals and production.
At the Utah Film Festival, which took place earlier this January, Status: Active was screened alongside countless other films. Like the film created by The 100 duo, the films all vied for the same level of recognition and award achievements. In the film industry, no matter how small the project or production, the competition will always be astronomical. Some actors and studios have it easy to win. In contrast, others anxiously stand on the precipice, unsure whether they will even be nominated.
In the case of Bob and Eliza, the decision to attain the honorable awards is left to the festival board. It’s not much different from how the Academy selects its winners, as both institutions use a voting system. Yet it shouldn’t be a no-brainer for The 100 duo, as they put lots of heart and soul, not to mention the talent and tedious work, into the Status: Active production and glitching it to the screen. Additionally, Eliza breathed life into Kaitlyn with perfection. Because of this, it’s considered criminal that sweet Aussie goes unnoticed.

As mentioned, Bob and Eliza earned well-deserved awards for their determination and efforts for their film. For the former, it’s a dream come true, for she has never accomplished such an honor. To clarify, Eliza received the Best Actress Award for her role as Kaitlyn in the short. As for Bobby, he got the “Best Director” Award. He truly brought his vision to the piece, creating a story that’s both relatable and enjoyable. However, this wasn’t the first time that he directed in the industry. In cse you didn’t know, Bobby directed The 100 season 6 episode 11, “Ashes To Ashes.’
