Shoresy season 5 has been making goals since its Hulu premiere on February 21. Meanwhile, Jared Leeso was a comedic genius in his role as Shoresy in the Canadian sports comedy. He delivered the outtakes beautifully, along with the scripted antics. Much of the credit goes to his co-star, Tasya Teles. I’m not just saying this because I know her well and like her style. That woman truly has the talent to bring out the magic and seriousness in situations. Whether it’s portraying a fierce Azgeda warrior with a soft spot for Bellamy Blake in The 100, or a no-nonsense hockey team manager in the Crave TV/Hulu original, Tasya snaps you to the screen with her aura and sexy delivery. Furthermore, she keeps vitality intact.
Despite Shorsey having only six 30-minute episodes a season, the storytelling, Leeso, and the rest of the cast make the best of the time constraints. Season 5 was no exception. It laid out the plotlines with a semi-satisfying conclusion that reflected true leadership in sports teams. It was also a much slower-paced season compared to past seasons. For the first four seasons, Shoresy was a profane force of sharp ice on the rink. However, he mellowed his way to coach (he’s still profane) in the latest installment. It’s not much of a transition for the seasoned player. Also, he has the experience and grit to teach the next generation of stars.

Tasya Teles is still the boss of the Bulldogs in Shoresy season 5
But what about Tasya’s character, Nat? Nat, for her part, endured a transformation of her own. She’s still the manager of the Sudsbury Blueberry Bulldogs. However, a major turning point places an obstacle in her career. Due to a lack of funding and players, the NOSHO disbanded. The Bulldogs lost their rink after several years of playing. Nat had to brew up a clever solution for Shoresy and his team to play against the European hockey team, which relies on agility and finesse. She was able to rent out a church rink. While the timing wasn’t suitable for most people (6 AM is early for a game), the players from North America and Europe were able to unfold their skills on the ice.
Nat is a kick-ass manager who knows what her team needs and will get it done; her personal life, on the other hand, could use a boost. Over four seasons, Nat had very little focus on a social life outside her job, and we got a glimpse of it during the fifth season. That said, the snippet has expanding potential. Tasya would love to see her character navigate toward the romantic realm, and there’s nothing wrong with throwing in a little love because it wouldn’t change her priorities as a manager.

Here’s what Tasya Teles wants for Nat in Shoresy season 6
While speaking with the outlet ScreenRant, Tasya opened up about Nat’s expansion. She also shared her hopes for season 6.
“I feel like we can go in a lot of different directions with Nat in season 6, because there’s almost like a full reset in a way, because they don’t have the rink. She’s at a chapter in her life where she knows where she’s going. I would love to see Nat have some fun, and I want to see Silly Nat and Playful Nat, and maybe she falls in love, or maybe she doesn’t. She’s been so good at steering the ship and all the responsibility that comes with that, and that will always be a part of who she is. But yeah, I’d like to see her have some fun.”
These days, having women in sports, whether playing or just helping the teams, is vital in society or even pop culture. Men primarily dominate the roles, and often, women are left on the sidelines while their earned credit goes unnoticed. Nat changes the course in that realm, as she’s someone who’ll give it her all to her boys, and in return, Shoresty and his team are grateful for the stops Nat had to pull.
Season 6 will hopefully allow Nat to have a ‘fun’ side, but even if she doesn’t, we love how far she has come!
