Eliza Taylor is really getting into the Christmas spirit (maybe more than I). As a special holiday treat for you guys, the actress opens up on two of her iconic characters- Clarke Griffin from The 100 and Ellen Langford from her Netflix Christmas romantic comedy (romcom) movie, Christmas Inheritance. She revealed what it was like portraying a woman who’s the complete opposite of her post-apocalyptic alter ego. To give you an idea, Ellen is a pampered NYC party girl who gets a lesson in the holiday spirit and those less fortunate.
And we all know what Clarke Griffin is made of- that bad-ass w man who can make quick decisions on the survival f her people. She’s vulnerable and received plenty of backlash for her choices, including her very disagreeable choice in season seven, willing to sacrifice specific people, and going head against heart with Bellamy. But I cherish the latter to a near-obsessive level.
Now, Eliza gets candid with her roles of Ellen from Christmas Inheritance and Clarke from The 100!
Eliza Taylor said that Ellen was ‘such a departure from Clarke’
I asked the legend herself via Cameo about what she loved about Ellen Langford and why. The why is always the anchoring factor, as it provides crucial detailing of everything. And yes, that includes media. The 100 is indefinitely filled with the “Whys,” and so is Christmas Inheritance, when you watch it from an analytical standpoint.
But enough already! Let’s get to Eliza!

“What was it like portraying her when she was the polar opposite of Clarke Griffin?”
“Playing Ellen was a breath of fresh air, really. Because we were in the middle of filming The 100, getting to play a character that was such a departure from Clarke Griffin was really fun. It was, I’m a romcom girl, so when the opportunity came up to do a Christmas movie, I leapt at it because I love romcoms so much. And it was a bit of a bucket-list dream come true to make a Christmas movie. Because I am a ’90s girl, I grew up with all the classic Christmas and, um, romantic comedies, and I adore that genre, so it was really fun.”
Eliza Taylor reveals whether she would like to do another romcom in the future

“Would you do another holiday romcom?”
“Absolutely. I would! I absolutely [would] love to do another holiday romcom. Let’s make it happen. It’s so much fun.”
There are several avenues that Eliza could take in a romcom. One that’s off the top of my head is a story where two characters fall in love with a shelter dog they both want to adopt, but end up fostering the pup together and falling in love themselves. The storyline has potential and, even better, advocates for animal humanity and adoptions.
