Warner Brothers Announces Comic Con 2018 Line-up

Comic Con 2018

Warner Brothers has unveiled their announcement for Comic Con 2018 today.  Year after year, fans attend the pop culture five-day event in San Diego to see their favorite show or film panels, cosplay, and get the 411 on new shows.  Yet, there will be a drift in the wind this year concerning some CW productions.

Comic-Con 2018 will take place during the five-day block beginning  Wednesday, July 18th, to Sunday, July 22nd at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego.  This year no doubt will be yet another successful one.  However, Warner Brothers decided not to have panels for their current mid-season shows on the CW Network.  Among the list, is The 100.

instead, The 100 will have a special screening of the July 24th episode, The Dark Year, during the special preview night on July 18th in Ballroom 20.  Warner Brothers has issued the following press statements:

The 100: Over the last four seasons The 100 have fought to survive against unimaginable odds, only to see the world end for a second time. Season five begins six years later, with our heroes still separated: Bellamy’s team in space, Clarke (Eliza Taylor) on the ground, and hundreds trapped in the bunker below. But when a massive prison ship descends upon the last survivable place on earth, The 100 must come together to reclaim their home. As two armies converge on one valley, alliances will shift, friends will become foes, and the march to war threatens to destroy all that’s left of the human race. Can our heroes break the cycle, or is humanity doomed to repeat the past? In this epic battle for survival, one thing is certain: there are no good guys. Based on the book series by Kass Morgan, The 100 is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Alloy Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios with executive producers Jason Rothenberg, Dean White and Leslie Morgenstein (The Vampire Diaries).  Starring Eliza Taylor, Paige Turco, Bob Morley, Marie Avgeropoulos, Lindsey Morgan, Christopher Larkin, Richard Harmon, Tasya Teles and Henry Ian Cusick, the series airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on The CW.  Become a fan on Facebook at facebook.com/CWThe100, and follow the show on Twitter at @CWThe100.

A statement about the Screening:

An advance screening of the following week’s episode of “The 100” (“The Dark Year” will air Tuesday, July 25, at 8/7c on The CW) exclusively for the Comic-Con audience.

The 100 has attended Comic-Con faithfully since 2013, and this will be the first year that the show will not be participating.  The fandom charged their fears via social media, panicked that season six will be the show’s last.  Not having a panel does not reflect cancellation.  Do not forget that it’s currently airing season five, and promotion for the new season will likely spoil the season finale airing August 7th.  That is just a professional speculation, but it does make logical sense.  EP Jason Rothenberg confirmed that season six would not be The 100‘s last season.

Highly doubtful. No one’s told me to end it in 6. And the network does like to announce those kinds of things. That said, I suppose anything’s possible. So please keep watching. #The100 https://t.co/6XN3mMxW98

Starting July 7th, The 100 will start at 8/7 central, fronted for the new series, Outpost, which will take the 9/8 central time slot.
