The 2018 Cancer Gets Lost Online Auction
In two years in the making, Cancer Gets Lost will be launching its 2018 Charity Auction on July 1st. Over 400 film and television memorabilia pieces signed by their respective stars will be in the online platform. Many of the items including one of the shows, The 100 are fan art, along with photographs and clothing items. 100% of the net profits raised from this event will benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
In 2010, Jo Garfein and Jared Wong founded Cancer Gets Lost, a 501 c3 organization to raise funds to be donated for various cancer societies. The name stemmed from the popular adventure drama, Lost, exclusively only containing items from the series at the time. Since then, the organization expanded to include several other television series and movie franchises.
The 2018 Online Charity Auction took two years to gather and plan, (this will be their fourth biannual online auction) and many of the items featured are fan donated. The 100 is included among the 120+ films and shows and has a nice range of collectibles and fan art to awe at. Let’s take a look at some of the items up for bidding.
These are just a few of The 100 pieces, generously signed by the cast and created by talented fandom members. It is important that we need to connect positively through fandom networks and Jo Garfein’s drive, passion, and vision with Cancer Gets Lost is the perfect emblem. It also allows connections on personal levels as many of us fought, are fighting, know someone who is fighting or have a loved one fighting with cancer. The organization itself is a symbol of hope, kindness, and unity among humans and beings.
The auction will be starting a day earlier than planned, June 30th at the time 8:15 PT/US. As of right now, it is in “preview mode” which means you can take a peek at all the things available in the auction, but unable to bid just yet. To learn more about the auction, Cancer Gets Lost, and its prior achievements, please head over to cancergetslost.org.
